Professor Md. Muazzam Hossain Mollah was born at the village of Jadabpur under Dhamrai Upazila in the distirict of Dhaka in 1960. He is the 5th child of Jamal Uddin Mollah and Nurjahan Begum. Young Muazzam Hossain was highly imaginative and creative from his tender age. As a student he was inquisitive and had insatiable thirst for knowledge. He passed the S.S.C. exam in 1975 and H.S.C. exam in 1977 from Dhaka College. He completed B.Sc. (Hons) in Chemistry in 1981 and M.Sc. (Thesis Group) in Chemistry in 1982 from Jahangirnagar University. He joined Education Cadre (7th BCS) in 1988. Fortune favoured Professor Muazzam Hossain offering him a rare opportunity to become a proud student, a dedicated teacher, a two-term elected General Secretary of Teachers’ Council, Vice Principal and, at last, Principal of the same outstanding and legendary institution Dhaka College. He joined as Principal of Dhaka College on 27 March, 2016. His motto is to accelerate modern, standard and qualitative education which can enhance physical, mental and spiritual development of the students. Above all, he is greatly inspired throughout his whole life by the ideology of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. He always feels proud of the glorious Liberation War of Bangladesh. His mission of life is to dedicate himself to the development of Bangladesh.
